Our Story

Our current business, Carmella d’Oro started out in 1994 as Spirit of Silk and at that time every thing was made by hand in our art studio.  Hand-painted silks were the original canvas where all designs were tried out.  Later, after an accident and an illness interrupted the sequence, we went to Italy and secured production for our products in Como.  As our business expanded, we had our designs hand screened there and received the finest quality work from our producers in Italy.

Later, due to the economic downturn, our production sources were expanded to include Asia, still done with quality and craftsmanship.  Currently we produce all the designs for our products in our local design studios and have them produced in the most cost-effective and quality-oriented environments all over the world, including the United States.

Recently, we have added a lower priced line of scarves to meet the needs of our customer while still maintaining high quality.  Our business also managed to become home-based.
